The sixth beer at Bracknell Ale & Wine Festival 2014 is from slightly further afield in Salisbury, but specially selected by the organising team after trying it out on the outskirts of Hyde Park in London last summer.
The 4.5% Eye Opener from Stonehenge Ales caught the eye because of it’s distinctive taste – which co-organiser Tom Canning said was ‘like the toffee finger from a box of Quality Street’.
“I am a big fan of distinctive beers. Beers that have a hint of flavour, and Eye Opener certainly did that for me, so although it is outside of our usual remit of local breweries (this being a rule we break every now and then) I felt it worth the effort” he said.
Here’s what the Stonehenge Ales website says:
Brewed at OG 1044 and ABV 4.5%. Eye-Opener is a beautiful golden, dry and smooth premium bitter with a hint of toffee, which compliments the citrusy and spicy flavours. A touch of magic and a hint of mystery is left on the palate.
Eye Opener has a 3.56 star rating on untappd.com
