Our fifth beer on the list is a brewery debut at Bracknell Ale & Wine Festival, from Sherfield, ten miles south of Reading it’s Mellivora from Sherfield Village Brewery.

Mellivora is a 5.6% honey based dark ruby beer from one of the area’s newest breweries SVB, which opened its doors in May 2011.
*Attenborough alert*
The ‘Mellivora’, from which this beer takes its name is a native african creature from the mustelid family which includes otters, badgers, weasels, martens, ferrets, minks and wolverines, and is more commonly known as the ‘honey badger’.
Here’s what the Sherfield Village Brewery website says about Mellivora:
Plenty of hops and plenty of malt with a good honey base and a rich dark ruby colour. Hops used: Riwaka (NZ), Galena (US). Fuggles, Admiral and Pilgrim (UK). Brewed with Katrina Fletcher from the Alehouse in Reading for their winter beer festival.
Mellivora has a 3.61 star rating on untappd.com
