Something you might not know. Rugby World Cup 2003 winner Lewis Moody began his rugby career at Bracknell – on the very field we’ll all share a beer or two in just over a weeks time.
Flowing locks, won the lineout that led to Jonny Wilkinson’s shot at glory? Yeah there you go!
You may also be aware that Lewis was recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease – a disease that affects around 5,000 people in the UK at any one time.
You’ll be familiar with the astonishing efforts of Kevin Sinfield to raise awareness and money to fight the disease that affected his best friend and team mate Rob Burrow, as well as more recently, Scottish rugby star Doddie Weir.
Last Friday, Bracknell RFC hosted a dinner to support Lewis’ efforts to raise money toward research in the fight against the disease. As part of that, an already planned collaboration brew between the club and Elusive Brewing in Finchampstead became an opportunity to honour Lewis and raise a little money ourselves.
Introducing then Moody Tiger, available now via the Elusive Brewing webshop, a 4.8% Pale Ale – and we’ll be donating 50p from every sale to MND research.
Naturally, the beer will also be on tap at the Beer Festival with not one, but two casks of this exclusive beer!
Grab some cans now, get your beer Festival tickets and we’ll see you soon!
