Guardsman will be back for a fourth year at the festival, making it the only brew to feature at every Bracknell Ale & Wine Festival since we started out in 2011.
The 4.2% best bitter is a firm favourite with the organising team and has the accolade of being the first new beer brewed in Windsor in 80 years when it launched in 2010.
It is a little known fact that Guardsman was at our festival by accident last year. It was one of two spare barrels ordered in case we ran out, but was accidentally opened on the morning of the festival.
In the event, it proved as popular as ever, and we’re delighted to have the Guardsman back properly this year.
Here’s what the Windsor & Eton Brewery website says about Guardsman:
This beer is a classic English Best Bitter, brewed with premium floor malted Maris Otter and traditional whole leaf hops including Fuggles and Goldings. The result is a lovely copper- coloured session strength ale with a tangy taste. The distinctive hop aroma is derived from use of both late hop additions and also a hop-back.
Guardsman has a 3.49 star rating on untappd.com
