Two beers topped the charts at Bracknell Ale & Wine Festival 2014 with Newbury based Two Cocks Brewery taking the judges vote, and Portsmouth’s Irving & Co. Brewers sealing the popular vote.
1643 Viscount was voted number 1 by the judging panel which included Regional CAMRA director Nick Boley, South East Berks CAMRA chair David Richards and beer aficionado’s Claire Knight, Ed Kruczek and Tony Hardy.
It beat off stiff competition from last year’s winner Soundwave to take the top spot, while Captain B – a rum infused ale, was the first empty barrel and therefore retains the title of ‘Most Popular beer’ after also being the first off the stillage in 2013.
Well done to both Two Cocks and Irving & Co, richly deserved.
